In the early 1980s, the first game of paintball was played, in a tournament format. Twelve players, each with a bolt-action Nelspot 007 marking pistol. The eventual winner of that free-for-all capture the flag game never fired a shot. The modern paintball player is a far cry from those who first stalked deeply wooded fields over two decades ago. However, many have begun to gravitate towards the elegance and simplicity of those original paintguns.
